We provide a primer on new slang that millennials need to know to be cool (or maybe not?). We go on to discuss our favourite childhood foods and snacks, and family recipes that make us feel nostalgic.

Kriti goes into lockdown after discovering an unfortunate creature has decided to take up residence on her balcony. We discuss our passion for traveling, recent travel experiences and past travel mishaps.

Season 2
007 Goal Setting, Seasonal Wisdom and Journaling with Melissa Willis
Season 2 is here! We’re kicking off 2025 with our first guest, Melissa. She shares her love of farm life, the story behind her Bold + Queer family history page and her heritage journaling process. We chat about setting goals, and share tips on balancing ambition with grace by leaning into the season. Sara’s heartwarming journal exchange with her dad might just inspire you to start your own, or maybe you’ll take your cue from Kriti’s List of (Wildest) Dreams? From Gen X music and movies to slang, we compare generational trends in a fun showdown. Spoiler: Flannel was a lifestyle, not a fashion choice.
008 Under the Korean Sky with Charu
This week we’re joined by Charu, who took a leap of faith out of the corporate world and straight into a life more aligned with her purpose. She now leads Conscious Connected Breathwork sessions and is embracing a whole new adventure – living in South Korea! In this episode we’re talking: the courage to leave a career that no longer fits, breathwork as a tool for clarity and healing, finding yourself in your 30s (because self-discovery doesn’t have a deadline), and, of course, ALL the adorable, aesthetic and downright whimsical things in Korea.
009 Legacies, Chosen Cousins and Chickens with Jake Peterson
Meet Jake, a narrative therapist and family history enthusiast, on this episode of The Rewind! Kriti has collaborated with him on his storytelling projects since 2022 – but it turns out that Sara and Jake have plenty in common. (Are they long-lost cousins?) We chat about his journey from the US to Australia, genealogy and resilience, building communities rooted in connection, and, of course, the TRULY important things: Schitt’s Creek, peanut butter cups, Meryl Streep, cuddly chickens, and the names we wish we had. Join us on an insightful and slightly existential deep dive into history and the legacies we hope to build, one story at a time.
010 Bonjour! Hallo! (And Stuff We Hate)
Join us for an episode about adventure, multilingualism, and the things we can’t stand! From traveling the world to learning new languages, we share a passion for expanding our horizons. But it’s not all sunshine and passport stamps – we also share some serious dislikes, including hairdressers, seafood and saunas. A longer episode after we took an extra week off, but one full of laughs, revelations and quirky stories.
011 The Movie We Maybe Needed (But Not the One We Expected)
Pack your emotional baggage and hop on this existential road trip with us as we delve into A Real Pain! We share our thoughts on the film – its gut-punching portrayal of grief, mental health and those complicated family dynamics that hit close to home. We draw from our backgrounds in anthropology and psychology (nerd alert!), discuss meaningful places and family homes, and offer some genealogy tips for beginners plus other must-watch recommendations. Grab your popcorn and maybe a therapy appointment – this one’s a deep dive!
012 Soulmates and Scented Candles (Sara’s First K-Drama!)
It has happened. Sara followed Kriti’s lead by falling headfirst into a blossoming love affair with Korean culture – because, apparently, all it takes is a charming Korean soldier, a moody bookshop, and a perfectly romantic kimchi scene to change your entire personality. We unpack our love for Crash Landing on You (the drama that started it all), and Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop (the book that made us want to quit everything and open a cozy bookshop). We recommend some K-dramas and books that have been feeding our souls, soothing our stress, and occasionally wrecking us emotionally in the best possible way. Seoulmates for life!
013 Welcome to the Blogroll
Kriti and Sara take a nostalgic trip back to their “blogging days of yore” (yes, that’s a direct quote) and the world of 2007-2016 blogging culture. We chat about everything from blog wars to passive-aggressive blog posts, read hilarious excerpts from our now hidden blogs, and spill the tea on how we blog in today’s online spaces. Plus, Kriti shares some exciting updates on her new products, and Sara reveals fresh discoveries in her family history. Tune in for laughs, cringey moments, and a blast from the past you won’t want to miss!
014 Stardust from Summers Past
Welcome to golden summers – the kind that felt endless and full of wonder – at our grandparents’ homes in small-town Himachal Pradesh and Utah. From catching minnows and gazing at a star-studded sky, to the soft ache of remembering what’s now gone, we examine what made those days feel so magical. What is it like to go back (or not go back) to those places of our childhood as adults? Nostalgia brings a swirl of joy, longing, and a little bit of sadness too. We talk about recreating the essence of those summers in our lives now, and what it means to have the courage to create a new legacy. Tune in for heartfelt reflections, idyllic vibes, and a return to slowness and nature.
015 Something Beautiful Travels Far with Shaista Tayabali
In our final episode of Season 2, we have a heartfelt chat with poet and writer Shaista Tayabali, exploring the profound ways in which creativity can shape and heal our lives. Shaista shares her long journey with lupus, her move from India to the UK, and how poetry, blogging and writing became both her solace and her voice. We remind ourselves of the invisible strings that connect us through and beyond time, the ripple effect of our stories, the stubborn echoes of loss and grief, the necessity of humour, the sparkliness of possibility, and the essential role played by art and words in navigating life’s hardest moments.

“The loveliest, gentlest, sweetest podcast. Listen when your heart needs relief, sisterhood and unexpected friendships across the universe.”
– SHAISTA TAYABALI
Season 3
016 Summer of Soda Pop and Watercress
We’re so back after a refreshing summer! In the first episode of season 3, we dive into an animated chat about our nostalgic and new favourite films and shows this summer. We discuss themes like strong female heroes, understanding our parents, and boundaries around social media. In the second half of the episode, we recount our summer travels to France and South Korea, complete with inspiring bookshops, meaningful family history discoveries, peaceful walks, and unexpected conversations with strangers. This season opener is basically all the things we love in one fun episode.
017 Bookish Beasts, Attic Entities and Witch Hunts with Cameron Crow
Sara and Kriti are joined by a very special guest for this Hallowe’en episode – Sara’s Gen Z nephew, Cameron! We bring you all the family stories, from fiery hot takes on beasts and methods for catching mythical creatures, to chaotic pranks and traumatizing children’s movies. Kriti is introduced to Nanny McPheePhee, Munchkin Jail, Evil Uncle Ron, and other figments. We also learn about the experiences that have shaped Cameron’s life so far, including an honest discussion on mental health and his hopeful view of the world. Finally, he takes us on a journey through his fascinating family history that he has traced all the way back to the Salem Witch Trials!
018 One Year of Baking Sourdough
The Rewind celebrates its first birthday, and we look back on the last year and our favorite episodes. We then get into the weeds with our mutual fave musical artist, who played a pivotal role in sparking our friendship – Taylor Swift. We reminisce about our personal histories with her music, our various blogs, how her songs carried us through some of our happiest and darkest eras, her latest album The Life of a Showgirl, and round it off with each of our top five songs from her oeuvre. Happy birthday, Taylor!
